Let the pen turn to verse,
Pursue the art of sophistication
To battle those who rattle the nerves.
The hitherto strategy has been to stay in
For many days and all nights of the week,
The shops and streets are full of the din
Of those who care not what they breach.
At risk is sanity, day after day,
Sating the fleshpot hurts still more,
The temptation is to start a fray
And risk a life behind locked iron doors.
So, sophistication ought to show in the face
And, with many others, be a life’s goal,
Serenity, wisdom, and grace,
For the sake of guarding the soul.
